ED not against furries stamp by TheLeetCasualGamer ED not against furries stamp by TheLeetCasualGamer
Part of a 3 part stamp submission I'm going to be placing on the furry fandom. This one is in response to how many furries are trying to take off the furfag section of ED (Encyclopedia Dramatica) If your unfamiliar what it ED is it's basically a wikipedia site where you can edit and discuss certain topics. This particular one is more for the drama that happens over the internet. Certain users that are very infamous and well known will be placed onto this site in an article form. The particular article I'm talking about is this one. [link]

I'm just going to make this clear to everyone. No! They are not serious about this. I'm sure the editors are well aware that not all furries are into YIFF and probably won't even go as far as Zoophilia. But the reason why furries look bad is not because of these fantards who like to shove their fetish into people's mouths. But the furries who take this way too seriously. What you need to realize is that the article is satirical, a joke just like the rest of the website. I also kind of find it ironic that the article will state how furries take everything said too seriously then then they make a comment saying how not all furries are like that because they are taking what is said too seriously.

This site is a joke alongside with any other site. But fortunately, this is not as a big of a deal then other sites. Take this one for instance [link] When something says it's the "100%" percent truth about furries you know they're just trying lure furries in in order to get them to flip out. Checking out the E-mail section I was shocked by what the furries wrote. So one of two things there. The furries really do flip out like that and the people running the site get a laugh, or the email is simply edited and post for amusment (or both.) Either way, it's something furries should stay clear of, take it with a grain of salt, get on with their lives and let them have their fun.

And this works the other way around as well. With the fantards that come with the fandom there are also the anti-tards who would take sights like this too seriously. They would say that this is the definition of a furry and they will be damn serious about it. I've encountered one or two in my time of the fandom. But I relized that explaining to these people is not really worth it. Most of the time people are just trying to troll you. If the comment is something like "it's okay if you don't want to share your fetish, I know what you do behind the closet" they are most likely trying to troll you. If they get a response, then they win.

You start a group saying where spreading what being a furry means then the trolls and these rogue sites win. If you start a group saying how we should get rid of all the zoophiles (which BTW is damn impossible over the internet) then once again, the trolls and rogue site win.

And that that ends my nice long explanation. None of these sites nor ED is serious about furries. This stamp does generalize all of them regardless that I'm saying ED in the stamp. But ED is the popular one so I placed that in. for familiar site name. :]

It's sad that people actually think they're serious. Yet their reactions are funny in how cringy they often are.

The problem with that website in non furs believe it because they don't understand that it's supposed to be satirical.

If it's serious against the sexuality side though, then it's still pathetic. That side is harmless, and doesn't harm anyone; nothing wrong.
The only bad thing (Like any sexuality) is if someone forced it on someone (No, just happening to find a yiff randomly doesn't count).

My main question though, how non-serious is it?
Example: They suggest writing articles about "stupid" people. But it can be argued that they were not stupid and that someone writes about them because they hate being judged by someone smarter than them... lol

If the website's funny point is that it's meant to be a rude, bias website about others, but isn't serious on ALL of that (Just to show how funny it is on it's self), then it's probably not a big deal other than those who take it seriously and harass those they talk about or post there addresses, etc.. -_-

I used to think their articles were serious until I read the one about homosexuality. :Y Now it's my favorite website.

Its very hard to tell if ED hates something or being humorous. They are usually very accurate about things.
I guess the truth is funny.

The majority of Encyclopedia Dramatica members are furries, they're just in denial.

:iconclappingplz: THIS.

You seriously don't know how sick I am of people who take ED seriously. It's a satire website, it's supposed to be offensive. Many furries don't even realize that many contributors to ED are furries themselves, making fun of their own fandom.
MugoUrth Featured By Owner Apr 20, 2012
That doesn't mean it cannot be seen as offensive. After all, I do not think people should hide behind the "Internet: Serious Business" excuse.

That being said, while I don't take it seriously, I do not find Encyclopedia Dramatica to be funny at all.

ED is at troll site. Nothing they post should be taken seriously. They're just there for a good laugh every now and again.

THANK YOU! Agreed, completely!

ED has it's assholes, yeah. But the vast majority of what's there is satire. It's a joke. Not serious. Most of the people who write these articles on different fandoms are PART of the fandoms. Hence why they even know what kind of crazy shit goes on in said fandoms. It's about as serious as a celebrity roast.

Now, articles on particular people, they tend to mean a lot of what they say. But you have to have done something pretty messed up to get your very own article. And a lot of what is said in articles on particular people is fact peppered with sarcasm.

Articles on fandoms and groups of people are more about taking the worst of the fandom or group and satiring it. When they say something along the lines of 'all furries are animal fuckers,' they don't actually believe it. They are exaggerating the worst and most dramatic of it for humorous effect.
