Stereotype stamp

Wow, I'm submitting a lot of stamps. This is very addicting. D:

But in all seriousness, this stamp is about stereotypes.

The media or social network places groups into sections in which we call stereotypes. When somebody enters into a group they know very little about they will most likely go with the stereotype. But it's really not anyone's fault that there is a stereotype to begin with. Why? That first impression of the community is going to be taken into effect at some point.

If you point at a show and saying it makes your culture look bad than you may fit into one of these types that are in the category of taking a stereotype too seriously. You do need to be able to learn how to laugh at yourself.

This goes for both in the group and outside the group. Those on the outside need to learn how to approach a certain group without taking the stereotype into account. A clean and open mind. Not that I mind when somebody jokes about my fandoms or anything. But I do hate it when they claim their views as "facts."

And now for the kicker. People in the group and take the stereotypes too seriously. On YouTube, I encountered a user I can't mention the name (since I'm not allowed to attack anybody) that is a furry. But what this guy is doing is attacking zoosexuals, not because he doesn't believe in it. But because they make our fandom look "bad." Honestly, I don't see how attacking a stereotype is going to make anything better. But that's just me.
